Three Are Sent to the Hospital and One Dies After an Interstate 95 Accident
Incident Information
A fatal three-vehicle crash occurred early Tuesday morning in Baltimore County, just days after a separate collision in the area claimed three lives.
Maryland State Police from the Golden Ring Barrack responded to the scene shortly before 3:30 a.m. on southbound Interstate 95 near the I-695 interchange. According to investigators, a Jeep Cherokee traveling southbound struck the rear of a dump truck for reasons that remain under investigation.
The impact left the Jeep disabled in a travel lane. Authorities believe the driver exited the vehicle and was then struck by a Subaru, which subsequently collided with the dump truck as well.
The driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The 50-year-old driver and 51-year-old passenger in the dump truck were transported to a local hospital, along with the 24-year-old woman driving the Subaru. Police have not provided updates on their conditions.
