Churchville Crash Involving Three Vehicles Leaves One Dead, Five in the Hospital
Incident Information
CHURCHVILLE, MD — A 33-year-old man from Havre de Grace died Monday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Churchville Road in Harford County, according to Maryland State Police.
Troopers responded shortly after 10 a.m. to the scene of the collision on eastbound Churchville Road (MD-22), just west of N. Stepney Road.
Authorities say the crash occurred when a westbound Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Tyler Lingenfelter, 33, crossed the center line and collided with a box truck. The force of the impact pushed the box truck into a Ford Transit van.
Lingenfelter was pronounced dead at the scene. Three juveniles who were passengers in the Traverse were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. The driver of the box truck, a 55-year-old man, and his 44-year-old female passenger were also hospitalized, along with the 62-year-old man driving the Transit van.
The Maryland State Police Crash Team is continuing to investigate the incident.
