Incident Information

A fatal head-on collision claimed the life of a 22-year-old man early Wednesday in Glen Burnie after his vehicle reportedly entered the path of oncoming traffic.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on November 6, 2024, near the intersection of Dorsey Road and Asphalt Road. According to Anne Arundel County Police, Melvin Obdulio Jimenez Y Jimenez, of Silver Spring, was driving a 2004 Acura RSX westbound in the eastbound lanes of Dorsey Road when he collided with an oncoming 2015 FRHT box truck.

Jimenez Y Jimenez suffered critical injuries and was transported to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was later pronounced dead.

The box truck’s driver, a 42-year-old man from Pasadena, Maryland, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to a local trauma center for assessment. He is expected to recover.

The AACPD Traffic Safety Section is currently investigating the crash to determine why the Acura crossed into the eastbound lane. Authorities have not released additional details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
