Car Accident: One Killed and One Injured on East Franklin Street

Incident Information

In the early morning of June 15, 2024, around 1:54 a.m., Baltimore Police officers were called to a single-vehicle crash at the corner of East Franklin Street and St. Paul Place. Upon arriving, they discovered a car that had hit a utility pole.

The driver, a 38-year-old man, and the passenger, a 35-year-old man, were both taken to a nearby hospital by emergency responders. Despite efforts to save him, the driver was pronounced dead at the hospital. The passenger remains in critical but stable condition.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the car was heading west on Orleans Street when it lost control, went over the median separating the lanes, hit the westbound curb, and became airborne before colliding with a BGE utility pole.

The Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) detectives are now handling the investigation and are seeking any information that could help clarify the events leading up to the crash.
