74-year-old man on a Bicycle Collides with Vehicle Resulting in Death

The Annapolis Police Department is investigating an unfortunate fatal hit-and-run crash that left Zarko Peruza, 74, of Annapolis dead on Tuesday night. During the investigation officers determined the incident had taken place near Merryman Road at the unit block of Hilltop Lane shortly after 10 pm when a vehicle ran into a bicyclist, leaving the victim seriously injured and leading to his death at the scene. In response to this tragedy, police have closed off Hilltop Lane in both directions for about two hours to reconstruct the crash and are asking for anyone who witnessed this heartbreaking incident or has additional information pertaining to the striking vehicle to call them with what they know.
