Deadly Bicycle Hit-and-Run Crash in Prince George’s County

A tragic incident has occurred in Prince George’s County involving a hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a 28-year-old bicyclist. Henok Geteta, hailing from Hyattsville, Maryland was struck by a car in the early hours of June 25. The driver of the car did not stay on the scene, leaving Henok in critical condition. PGPD officers arrived at the scene around 2am to find him in dire need of medical attention. Henok was immediately taken to a local hospital but despite efforts from medical professionals, he sadly succumbed to his injuries just a week later and tragically passed away on Monday. 

Despite the ongoing investigation by the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, little information has been released, leaving residents wondering who was responsible for the accident. With police still searching for a black pickup truck and no suspect description available, many are left hoping that justice will be served and answers will come soon.

The Prince George’s County Police released a statement regarding the incident and are continuing to investigate the case.
